We started the morning seeing more workshops for students’ free time. They have organized a workshop to make soap and another presentation of an oceanographic organisation where the pupils have been able to observe different marine elements through the microscope and have been able to have alive sea urchins on thier hands, and so have we.

Job shadowing in the Arts class at Anica Bašic's class
The teacher Anita Basic begins explaining different aspects of architectural structures of Diocletian's Palace, the most important tourist point of the city of Split. We are in grade 6th The teacher starts reviewing concepts such as column, pillar, ceiling, forms of fastening of structures, differences between the Parthenon and pantheon... Some students were translating us concepts that the professor was writing: Stub: column, strop: ceiling, svod: Dome, kröv: roof-, bonum: dome... After the theoretical class students began to make a model of the structure explained, with a cardboard box and rolls of toilet paper. While the students were working, we have talked about the activity which was made for our Etwinning project in Arts class in which students did different interpretations of a statue that is a symbol of the city of Split: Ggrur Ninsk (Croatian Bishop who opposed the Pope and introduced the Croatian language in religious acts where previously dominated the latin). The teacher shows all the works that were made about this statue. It consisted of the reinterpretation of a sculpture using different techniques, i.e., the same job that was done in our Center with Guernica. This was the video that they sent us and which we have in our Etwinning twinspace.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmKsw0vDVPE.
Tour using QR codes with Anica Bašić, Ivana Bokavše, Antonia Drlje and Fadila Zoranić
After the break we have been led to the historic centre with a group of students to carry out a visit to Diocletian's Palace where students, reading QR codes, will have to be find information with tablets and smart phones. Before the activity we are taken to a scale model of the city where we are given historical data about Diocletian’s Palace. The Palace itself is only the wall, one of the most important doors, the golden gate and the center of the Palace that was the place where the Emperor welcomed visitors and it is now a square with stairs around and where a tiny Cathedral was built and a tower which is also a symbol of the city. The city grew within the walls and inside the premises of the Palace. They explained that we were at the south wall which is where the Emperor entered directly from the sea and that all the current maritime promenade was built later on. We are then divided into three groups and each one has three activities to meet and the idea is to be the first to reach a goal that has been marked. So we have to see the first track reading a QR code. Once we have achieved the first activity, we have to read the second QR code. To prove that they have managed it, they have to take different photos of the site. The meeting point has been the ethnographic museum. We went inside and this time the activity consists of choosing an element of the Museum that is attractive for them and now they are the ones who will have to create a QR code that will contain the data of that part of the Museum that have chosen, i.e., they will have to learn how to put information to be read using a QR reader application. They have to take a photo of the object and they will create the QR code once they are back at school. At the end of our activity all students and we have received a certificate as a diploma for having successfully completed the activity "QR Code field class in Diocletian Palace". We are very proud to have achieved our own diploma.
